Searches like "ราคา lunc", "เหรียญ lunc" and "lunc bitkub" all lead to the same place: Bitkub's LUNA_THB market, which is Terra Classic (LUNC) despite its name. It has run since 7 February 2022 and is the second-largest local-currency LUNC market we found anywhere, behind only Binance's Turkish lira book. Binance TH adds a LUNC/USDT market with Binance liquidity behind it.
That makes Thailand one of the few places in Asia where you can buy LUNC on a licensed local exchange, fund it with PromptPay and stay inside a tax exemption that runs until the end of 2029. The catch is the ticker, plus a few venues that look licensed but are not. This guide walks through all of it. New to the coin? Start with what LUNC is.
Why Thailand stands out for LUNC
Most Asian markets have no local LUNC venue at all. Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines have none, and Vietnam has no licensed exchange of any kind yet. Thailand has two licensed exchanges with LUNC, and one of them trades it directly against baht. Bitkub's baht book is deep enough that CoinGecko ranks it right after Binance's lira pair among local-fiat LUNC markets.
The reason is history. Bitkub listed Terra's coin before the May 2022 collapse and kept the market open when the chain split, so the old LUNA ticker stayed attached to the old coin. Thai traders who held through the Terra crash never had to switch exchanges or learn a new symbol. We could not verify any Thai LUNC community group, and no Terra Classic validator identifies itself as Thai, but the order book speaks for itself.
The LUNA ticker trap
On Bitkub, the symbol LUNA_THB is Terra Classic. Bitkub's own market data names it "Terra Classic (LUNC)". Its Terra 2.0 market is LUNA2_THB, and it is stopped, with buying, selling and cancelling frozen. On Binance TH, the logic is reversed: LUNCUSDT is Terra Classic and LUNAUSDT is Terra 2.0.
The fastest check is price magnitude. LUNC trades at a tiny fraction of a baht per coin, while Terra 2.0 trades at roughly a thousand times more per unit. If an app shows a price in whole baht, you are looking at the wrong coin. Our LUNC vs LUNA page explains the split in detail.
Check the tickerSEC rules and licenses
Thailand regulates crypto through the Emergency Decree on Digital Asset Businesses B.E. 2561 (2018). The Securities and Exchange Commission supervises the sector, and the Ministry of Finance grants licenses on its recommendation. The SEC's public license check lists seven exchanges: WAANX, Gulf Binance (Binance TH), TDX, Upbit, Z.comEX, Bitkub and Orbix Trade. It also lists brokers such as Bitazza, Coins TH and Kulap, and a few dealers.
The SEC also blocks unlicensed offshore exchanges. Bybit, OKX, CoinEx, XT.COM and 1000X were blocked from 28 June 2025, and Vcex.io is due to be blocked from 7 November 2026. Vcex.io is a different company from CEX.IO, which is not on the Thai block list. Licensed operators have also been barred from facilitating crypto payments since 1 April 2022, so LUNC is an investment in Thailand, not a way to pay.
Licensed venues with LUNC
We checked every licensed exchange with a public data feed. Two list LUNC. The rest either do not list it or could not be checked. Our wider LUNC exchange list covers the global venues.
| Venue | SEC status | LUNC market | Use it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bitkub | Exchange + broker | LUNA_THB (= LUNC) | Yes, the main baht book |
| Binance TH | Exchange + broker | LUNC/USDT only | Yes, baht to USDT first |
| Bitazza | Broker (Thai arm) | Feed is Bitazza Global | Excluded, see below |
| Upbit TH, KuCoin TH | Upbit licensed; KuCoin TH not | No LUNC | No |
| Orbix Trade | Exchange + broker | LUNC transfers suspended 2023 | Status unclear |
Bitazza needs a clear warning. Its LUNC/THB and LUNC/USDT feeds point to Bitazza Global. On 20 February 2026 the Thai SEC filed charges against Bitazza International Limited, Bitazza and two executives for jointly operating an unlicensed digital asset exchange, and asked the digital ministry to block bitazza.com from 22 March 2026. Bitazza Thailand holds only a broker license and says the two businesses are now separate. We leave it out of our Thai LUNC recommendations.
Orbix Trade suspended LUNC network deposits and withdrawals from 17 May 2023, and we could not confirm whether it still lists the coin. WaanX, TDX, Z.comEX and several brokers publish no data we could check.
Bitkub in practice
Bitkub Online Co., Ltd., founded in 2018, holds SEC exchange and broker licenses. For LUNC, its strengths are simple: a direct baht market, a minimum order of just 10 THB, and PromptPay funding. Its trading fee is reported at 0.25% for both makers and takers, which is higher than Binance TH's crypto pairs but saves you a USDT conversion.
There are two caveats. First, the LUNC withdrawal fee is not published openly; Bitkub updates crypto withdrawal fees several times a day, and its notices say the Terra Classic burn tax comes on top. Second, its regulatory record: on 23 July 2026 the SEC filed a criminal complaint against Bitkub Online and two former directors over false net-capital reports linked to a May 2021 hack that was not disclosed. Bitkub says its co-founders replaced the assets and no customer lost funds, and no charges have been decided. Our Bitkub review scores all of this in detail.
One baht book, many small orders
With a 10 THB minimum, Bitkub lets you buy LUNC in very small steps. That suits a coin whose per-unit price is tiny and whose swings are large.
Binance TH in practice
Binance TH is run by Gulf Binance Co., Ltd., a joint venture of Gulf Energy's digital arm and the Binance group. It received exchange and broker licenses in 2023 and opened to the general public in early 2024. It lists LUNC/USDT only, and its trades mirror Binance's global LUNC/USDT book, so liquidity is deep even though Thai volume alone is smaller.
The route is two steps: deposit baht, buy USDT, then buy LUNC. The reported fee on crypto-to-crypto pairs is 0.10%, with a minimum order of 5 USDT. Withdrawals are where it gets tricky. Binance TH lists a LUNC withdrawal fee of 22.66 LUNC and a minimum withdrawal of 25,000 LUNC, and when we checked, LUNC withdrawals were paused for wallet maintenance while deposits still worked. Check the status before you buy if you plan to move coins. Our Binance TH review covers fees and KYC for foreign residents.
LUNC price in baht
The live board at the top of this page shows "lunc ราคา บาท" from market data. Bitkub's own LUNA_THB price can sit a few percent above or below the Binance dollar price once converted to baht. That gap is normal for a local market with its own buyers and sellers, not a free arbitrage.
A labeled example helps. If LUNC traded at 0.0014 THB on Bitkub, 1,000 THB would buy about 714,000 LUNC, minus the 0.25% fee, leaving roughly 712,000 LUNC. On Binance TH you would first buy USDT and then LUNC, paying a fee on each leg plus any baht-to-USDT spread. For a few thousand baht the difference is small; for larger amounts, compare both final coin counts. The LUNC converter handles other currencies, and the price page shows the chart and market cap.
PromptPay and P2P
Both licensed venues take PromptPay QR or Thai bank transfers from an account in your own name. Bitkub's baht deposits are free and baht withdrawals are reported at about 20 THB. Binance TH uses a single-use QR code for deposits between 100 THB and 4 million THB per transaction, also with a roughly 20 THB withdrawal fee.
Binance's global P2P desk shows no baht ads at all, because Binance routes Thai users to Binance TH. Any P2P deal you find elsewhere means trading with an unlicensed counterparty. That has two costs: you lose the tax exemption on that trade, and you take on mule-account and fraud risk, where a seller pays you with someone else's money and your bank account ends up frozen. For most Thai buyers, PromptPay into a licensed exchange is both cheaper and safer.
Holding a card but no Thai account?
Visitors and expats without Thai banking can buy USDT by card, then send it to an exchange that lists LUNC. Gains outside licensed Thai venues do not get the tax exemption.
The exchange behind our buttons is CEX.IO, running since 2013. It sells USDT by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay after verification, converting baht cards at your bank's rate. It does not list LUNC. In Asia its services come from CEX OVRS LLC in St Kitts and Nevis, which holds no SEC Thailand license and no other Asian license, so trades there sit outside the Thai exemption. Residents with a Thai bank account are usually better served by Bitkub or Binance TH.
The 2025–2029 tax exemption
Ministerial Regulation No. 399, published in the Royal Gazette on 5 September 2025, exempts individuals from personal income tax on capital gains from crypto transferred between 1 January 2025 and 31 December 2029. The condition is that the trade goes through an SEC-licensed business: an exchange, broker or dealer. Companies are excluded.
For LUNC that means a sale on Bitkub or Binance TH qualifies, while a sale on an offshore exchange or to an unlicensed P2P buyer falls under the normal income tax rules. Picture two traders who each make a 20,000 THB gain on LUNC: the one who sold on Bitkub owes no tax on it under the exemption, while the one who sold offshore has to treat it as ordinary income. Keep your exchange statements, because you may still need to show where a gain came from. The on-chain LUNC burn tax is a separate network fee, not a government tax, and applies either way when you move coins.
A practical route for Thai residents
For most people living in Thailand, the cleanest path stays inside licensed venues from start to finish. The general process, with wallet setup, is in our how to buy LUNC guide.
Baht to LUNC, the licensed way
Keeping LUNC on the exchange is simplest and keeps you on a licensed venue. Moving it to your own wallet lets you stake with a validator for a real yield of about 2% a year, with a 21-day unbonding period; our staking guide explains the numbers. Every withdrawal pays the exchange fee plus the 1.5% on-chain burn tax, a rate set by governance vote that can change. Deposits back to an exchange need both the address and a memo.
Before you press buy
- The app appears on the SEC license check under your platform’s exact company name.
- The coin is Terra Classic: on Bitkub the symbol is LUNA_THB, on Binance TH it is LUNCUSDT.
- The price per coin is a tiny fraction of a baht. A price in whole baht means you picked Terra 2.0.
- The LUNC withdrawal status is open if you plan to move coins to your own wallet.
- You have saved your trade history in a format you can export at tax time.
- You never pay a P2P seller from, or into, an account that is not in your own name.
How Thailand compares with its neighbors
Thailand's mix of a licensed baht market and a tax exemption is unusual in the region. Malaysia has no ringgit pair and no registered exchange showing LUNC. Indonesia lists LUNC officially but its rupiah book is thin, so most trading runs through USDT. Vietnam still waits for its first licensed exchange. The Asia hub puts all eleven markets in one table.
FAQ
Is LUNC on Bitkub?
Yes, but under the ticker LUNA. On Bitkub the LUNA_THB market is Terra Classic (LUNC), described by Bitkub as Thai Baht to Terra Classic (LUNC), and it has traded since February 2022. Bitkub’s Terra 2.0 market is LUNA2_THB, and it is frozen.
Where can I see the LUNC price in baht?
The live board at the top of this page shows LUNC in THB. The Bitkub LUNA_THB order book is the only large baht market, so its price can differ slightly from a conversion of the Binance dollar price. For other currencies, use our LUNC converter.
Can I buy LUNC on Binance TH?
Yes, Binance TH lists LUNC against USDT only, with no LUNC/THB pair. You fund your account with baht, buy USDT, then buy LUNC. Check the LUNC withdrawal status before buying, because withdrawals were paused for wallet maintenance when we checked.
Do I pay tax on LUNC profits in Thailand?
Individuals are exempt from personal income tax on crypto capital gains from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2029, but only for trades made through SEC-licensed businesses such as Bitkub or Binance TH. Gains on offshore exchanges or with unlicensed P2P counterparties fall under the normal rules. Companies are not covered.
Is Bitazza a safe place to trade LUNC?
We do not recommend it for LUNC. The visible LUNC liquidity sits on Bitazza Global, which the Thai SEC charged in February 2026 with operating an unlicensed exchange. Bitazza Thailand holds a broker license only, and whether its app offers LUNC could not be confirmed.
