Choosing a LUNC wallet that still works

Galaxy Station and Keplr are the safest everyday LUNC wallets, Ledger adds cold storage through its Terra app, and MetaMask cannot hold native LUNC at all. Here is what works, what broke and how to set it up.

The short answer

If you want one LUNC wallet that does everything, install Galaxy Station. It is the community-maintained successor to Terra Station, built by Hexxagon (the team formerly known as Terra Rebels), and it can send LUNC, stake it with a validator and vote on governance proposals. Keplr is the best alternative, especially if you already hold other Cosmos coins. For larger balances, connect a Ledger hardware wallet to either one, so your keys never touch the computer.

Three popular answers you will find elsewhere are now wrong. Terra Station’s Terra Classic mode points to a dead node, Leap Wallet shut down completely on 28 May 2026, and MetaMask has never been able to hold native LUNC. The quiz at the top of this page narrows the choice down in a few taps. The rest of this guide explains each wallet, walks through a Galaxy Station plus Ledger setup and covers the two mistakes that cost people the most: leaking a seed phrase and forgetting a memo.

LUNC wallet comparison

The table sums up what we could confirm for each wallet from its own documentation, its chain configuration files or the Terra Classic community docs. “Unverified” means exactly that: we looked and could not confirm support, so do not send coins there on the strength of a random blog post.

Wallet by wallet

Galaxy Station

Galaxy Station comes as a Chrome and Brave extension, a web dashboard and a mobile app that pairs with the dashboard through WalletConnect. It does not run on Firefox. You can create a new wallet or import an existing 24-word Station seed, and your terra1 address will match the one you had in Terra Station. Staking is built in: the auto-stake option picks a validator with under 5% commission that is not in the top 30% by voting power, which is a sensible default for decentralisation. Ledger works over USB, as long as the Terra and Cosmos apps are installed on the device. You can reach the dashboard at station.terraclassic.community.

Keplr

Keplr lists Terra Classic in its official chain registry under the chain ID columbus-5, with Terra’s coin type 330 as the default derivation path. Staking runs through the Keplr Dashboard rather than the extension popup: open the Terra Classic page, choose a validator, enter the amount and approve. Voting on proposals is the weak spot, because Keplr only supports it through third-party sites. It is a good pick if you already keep ATOM or OSMO there and want one app for everything, including moving LUNC to Osmosis over IBC and the DEX swaps that route through it.

Cosmostation

Cosmostation’s own chain list marks Terra Classic as supported in both its mobile and extension wallets, including CW20 tokens. It uses the standard Cosmos staking screens. We have not tested its staking and voting flow end to end, so treat it as a solid backup rather than our first recommendation. One detail trips people up: Cosmostation’s Mintscan explorer does not support Terra Classic, so check transactions on our LUNC explorer or Galaxy Finder instead.

Trust Wallet and Atomic Wallet

Both hold native LUNC and offer real on-chain staking inside the app, which makes them popular with mobile-first users across Asia. The problem is the yield they advertise. Trust Wallet’s Terra Classic staking page has displayed an APR of 15%, and Atomic’s page headlines 12%. On-chain measurements put real rewards at roughly 2% a year after a typical validator commission, because LUNC has zero inflation and rewards come mostly from the oracle pool. Use these apps if you like them, but plan with the realistic number from our LUNC staking guide.

Ledger (cold wallet for LUNC)

Ledger supports Terra Classic through its Terra app. Ledger’s own asset list still calls the coin “Terra” with the old ticker LUNA, a leftover from before the May 2022 rename, which confuses many people searching “ledger nano x lunc”. You install the app with Ledger Live, then manage your coins in a companion wallet such as Galaxy Station, Keplr or Cosmostation. We could not confirm that Ledger Live shows a native LUNC account, so don’t expect your balance to appear there. Any Ledger model that runs the Terra app works the same way.

Unverified wallets

Exodus, SafePal and Coin98 are often listed as LUNC wallets on SEO pages, but we could not confirm native Terra Classic support from their own sources. Before sending anything, make sure the app shows a Terra Classic asset with a receive address that starts with terra1. The community wallet list on terra-classic.io also names Vultisig, LUNC Dash, Guarda and a few work-in-progress apps; those are listings, not endorsements.

Mobile is fine, keys are what matter

A phone wallet is perfectly usable for everyday LUNC. What protects you is where the keys live and how you back them up, not the screen size.

What happened to Terra Station

Terra Station was the original wallet from Terraform Labs, and many guides still call it the official LUNC wallet. Its configuration still lists Terra Classic, but the default Classic node it points to, run by the old Terraform Labs foundation, has stopped responding. In practice that means balances fail to load and transactions fail to broadcast unless you know how to set a custom node. Terraform Labs is in wind-down and no longer maintains anything for Terra Classic, which is run entirely by its community and on-chain governance.

The fix is painless. Your coins were never “in” Terra Station; they sit at your terra1 address on the blockchain. Import the same 24-word seed into Galaxy Station or Keplr and the same address, balance and delegations appear. The same applies to former Leap users, whose wallet app shut down on 28 May 2026. Also note that station.money is now a different multichain product, and we could not confirm that it supports LUNC.

MetaMask and LUNC

People search “metamask lunc” and “how to send lunc to metamask” every day, so here is the plain answer: you can’t hold native LUNC in MetaMask. Terra Classic is built with the Cosmos SDK and has no EVM module, so it uses bech32 addresses that start with terra1, not 0x addresses. If you withdraw LUNC from an exchange, the exchange will only accept a terra1 address on the Terra Classic network.

What MetaMask can hold are wrapped tokens on BNB Chain or Ethereum, created years ago by the Wormhole and Shuttle bridges. Those tokens are named “LUNA” on-chain, cannot be staked and cannot be reliably bridged back to Terra Classic. If you still want them, read our wrapped LUNC guide for the verified contract addresses and how to avoid fake tokens.

How to set up Galaxy Station with a Ledger

This is the setup we would use for any balance you would hate to lose. The keys stay on the Ledger, Galaxy Station only builds and displays transactions, and every send or stake must be confirmed on the device. Allow about twenty minutes the first time.

  1. Prepare the Ledger

Update the firmware in Ledger Live, then install both the Terra app and the Cosmos app from the app catalogue. Galaxy Station needs both on the device.

  2. Install Galaxy Station

Add the Galaxy Station extension to Chrome or Brave from the link in the official Hexxagon docs, not from a search ad. Firefox is not supported.

  3. Close Ledger Live

Quit Ledger Live so it does not hold the USB connection, plug in the Ledger, enter your PIN and open the Terra app.

  4. Connect the device

In Galaxy Station choose the Ledger option instead of creating a seed. Approve the connection on the device and select Terra Classic as the network.

  5. Check your address

Your terra1 address appears in the wallet. Compare it with the address shown on the Ledger screen before you share it with anyone.

  6. Send a small test

Withdraw a small amount from your exchange first. Exchanges set minimums (Binance TH lists 25,000 LUNC), so check that before you start.

  7. Stake if you want rewards

Open Stake, choose Auto-stake or pick a validator, enter the amount and confirm on the Ledger. Leave some LUNC unstaked for gas fees.

If the extension says the wallet is not connected, user reports point to the usual suspects: the Terra app not open on the device, Ledger Live still running, or a flaky cable or USB hub. Without a Ledger, the flow is the same except that you create a wallet in the extension and write down the 24-word seed it shows you. Before you stake, read how to choose a validator in our LUNC validators guide; spreading your stake across smaller validators helps the network.

Seed phrase safety

Shy panda mascot holding a finger to its lipsKeep it secret

Your 24-word seed phrase is the wallet. Anyone who has it can move your LUNC from any device, and no one, not Hexxagon, not a validator, not a Telegram admin, can reverse it. Scammers know this and target LUNC holders constantly, often with fake “wallet sync”, “burn reward claim” or “migration to LUNC 2.0” pages.

Rules we never break

  • Write the seed on paper or steel and store it offline, never in photos, cloud notes or chat.
  • No real wallet or website ever asks you to type your seed into a web page.
  • Install wallets only from links in official docs, and bookmark the dashboard.
  • Check that addresses start with terra1 and compare the first and last characters before sending.
  • Treat anyone offering support in direct messages as a scammer until proven otherwise.
  • Use a hardware wallet for anything you could not afford to lose.

One more Terra-specific detail: Terra wallets derive addresses with coin type 330. Some wallets also support the generic Cosmos path (118), which produces a different terra1 address from the same seed. If you import a seed and see an empty wallet, check the derivation option before you panic.

Exchange wallet or your own wallet?

Leaving LUNC on an exchange is convenient for trading, and for small amounts it is a reasonable choice. The trade-off is that the exchange holds the keys, can pause withdrawals at any time and pays very little for idle coins. Binance’s flexible Simple Earn product for LUNC has paid a rate close to zero, while native staking pays about 200 times more. Binance LUNC withdrawals have also been disabled for “wallet maintenance” at times, so check the withdrawal status before you buy if you plan to move coins out.

Self-custody gives you staking rewards, governance votes and the certainty that nobody can freeze your coins, in exchange for full responsibility for your seed. The buying side usually starts on a card on-ramp. CEX.IO, the exchange behind the buttons on this site, does not list LUNC, but it sells USDT by card after verification; you then send the USDT to an exchange that lists LUNC, buy there and withdraw to your own address. Our how to buy LUNC guide walks through that route, and the LUNC exchanges page shows where the pairs trade.

Memos and exchange deposits

When you send LUNC to an exchange, you usually need two things: the exchange’s terra1 deposit address and a memo, a short number or text that tells the exchange which customer the deposit belongs to. Binance, Binance TH and Indodax all require it. Because many customers share one deposit address, a missing or wrong memo can leave your coins stuck in a support queue or lost. Copy both fields straight from the exchange’s deposit page every time.

Sends between your own wallets don’t need a memo. Remember the burn tax as well: ordinary transfers on Terra Classic, including exchange deposits and withdrawals, pay 1.5%, of which 1.2 points are burned, a rate set by governance proposal 12223 that a future vote could change. If you send 1,000,000 LUNC to an exchange, expect roughly 15,000 LUNC to go to the tax plus a small gas fee. Staking, unstaking and claiming rewards are not taxed, so staking from your own wallet costs only gas. Our burn tax guide explains the split, and you can confirm any transfer, memo included, by pasting the hash into the explorer.

FAQ

What is the best wallet for LUNC?

For most people it is Galaxy Station, the community-built successor to Terra Station, because it handles sending, staking and governance votes on Terra Classic. Keplr is a strong second choice if you already use Cosmos chains. Pair either one with a Ledger if you hold a meaningful amount.

Does Ledger support LUNC?

Yes, through the Terra app on the device, used together with a companion wallet such as Galaxy Station, Keplr or Cosmostation. Galaxy Station asks for both the Terra and Cosmos apps to be installed on the Ledger. We could not confirm that Ledger Live itself shows a native LUNC account, so manage the coins in the companion wallet.

Can I store LUNC in MetaMask?

Not native LUNC. Terra Classic is a Cosmos SDK chain without an EVM, so its addresses start with terra1 and MetaMask cannot create them. MetaMask can only hold the wrapped LUNC tokens on BNB Chain or Ethereum, which cannot be staked and cannot reliably be bridged back.

Does Terra Station still work for LUNC?

Out of the box, probably not. Terra Station’s Terra Classic setting points to a node run by the old Terraform Labs foundation that has stopped responding, so balances and transactions tend to fail. Import the same seed phrase into Galaxy Station or Keplr instead; your terra1 address stays the same.

Can I stake LUNC in Trust Wallet?

Yes, Trust Wallet supports native LUNC and on-chain staking from its Earn tab. Ignore the APR it displays, which has shown 15 percent while real on-chain rewards are around 2 percent a year. Unbonding still takes 21 days whichever wallet you use.

Is Leap Wallet still safe for LUNC?

Leap shut down on 28 May 2026, including its extension, mobile apps and web app, so it is no longer an option. If your LUNC sat in Leap, your coins are still on the blockchain. Restore the same seed phrase in Galaxy Station or Keplr to reach them.
