Tokocrypto LUNC review: a Binance-linked route in Indonesia

Tokocrypto trades Terra Classic only against USDT, so rupiah buyers take two steps. In return you get a tight spread, Binance group links and an OJK licence, with a few naming quirks to understand first.

Our verdict and score

Tokocrypto is the Indonesian exchange with the closest ties to Binance, and for LUNC that shows in the spread. When we checked, the gap between the best bid and ask on LUNC_USDT was a small fraction of a percent. That is far tighter than the local rupiah book on Indodax. The trade-off is that LUNC has no rupiah pair here, so every purchase starts with buying USDT.

We score it slightly above Indodax overall. Tokocrypto is easier to trade on for anyone placing orders above pocket-money size, and its licence status is clear. It loses points for opaque LUNC withdrawal details and for a corporate set-up that confuses even careful readers: two company names, a Bappebti line on its site, and a different clearing house from most local peers.

  • LUNC liquidity6.5
  • Fees6.5
  • Local funding7.0
  • Regulation and safety7.0
  • App and support7.5

How we got there. Liquidity gets a fair mark because the spread is tight and the LUNC_USDT symbol appears to share Binance’s order book. Its own reported turnover is small, though, and the shared-book link rests on our own price comparison, not an official statement. Fees are average once tax and the exchange levy are added. Local funding is good, since rupiah bank deposits are easy, but it takes a USDT step. Regulation and safety reflects an OJK licence and no known platform hack, minus the naming confusion. App and support is backed by a strong App Store rating from tens of thousands of users.

Tokocrypto launched in 2018 and is now one of the licensed digital asset traders supervised by OJK, which took over crypto from Bappebti in January 2025. LUNC is on the national tradable-asset list, so offering it is allowed. For the country’s rules, taxes and other venues, see our Indonesia country guide.

Binance links and two company names

Binance bought a controlling stake in Tokocrypto in 2022 and was reported in December 2022 to be acquiring the remaining shares. We could not confirm the current shareholder structure. What matters for you is practical: Tokocrypto’s USDT pairs use Binance-style symbols, and when we compared the LUNC_USDT top of book with Binance TH in the same minute, the prices matched. That points to a shared order book, though Tokocrypto does not say so in plain words.

The naming is the part that trips people up. OJK’s list names the licensed company PT Aset Digital Berkat. The iPhone app is published by PT. Crypto Indonesia Berkat. Tokocrypto’s own site still says it is "registered with Bappebti", a leftover from before OJK took charge. None of this suggests a fake app, but it does mean you should install the app from the official site’s store links and check the publisher name matches the one shown above.

LUNC market and liquidity

There is one Terra Classic market: LUNC_USDT, with spot and margin both enabled in Tokocrypto’s public symbol list. The exchange also lists LUNA_USDT, which is Terra 2.0, and USTC_USDT, the depegged Terra Classic stablecoin covered on our USTC page. There is no LUNC/IDR pair.

CoinGecko credited Tokocrypto with a few thousand dollars of LUNC trading per day when we checked. That figure alone would look thin. The spread tells a different story: it was a few hundredths of a percent, which is what you see on a deep global book. In practice, retail-size orders should fill close to the global price. Because the volume may be counted once on Binance and again here, do not add the two together when judging how liquid LUNC is overall. The live board above and our LUNC price page show the global picture.

Fees and funding

Tokocrypto publishes its fee schedule in its help centre. The rates differ by market type, and tax and the ICEx levy are added to the trading fee. The help centre does not say in plain words whether LUNC_USDT falls under the "USD pairs" line, so treat the middle column as our best reading and confirm it on the order screen.

Tokocrypto costs relevant to a LUNC purchase
RouteTrading feeAdded on top
IDR pairs (e.g. USDT/IDR)0.10% maker · 0.20% takerTax and ICEx levy
USD pairs (likely incl. LUNC_USDT)0.15% maker and taker0.21% final tax + levy
Instant Buy/SellNoneTax and ICEx levy
IDR withdrawalRp10,000Own-name bank only

Worked example. Say you deposit Rp1,000,000, buy USDT on the IDR market as a taker, then buy LUNC. The first leg costs about 0.2% plus the add-ons. The second leg costs about 0.15% plus the 0.21% final income tax and the levy. Together you pay somewhere near 0.6% to 0.7% before spread, which is higher than Indodax’s one-step route on paper. The tighter spread on LUNC_USDT can win that back on larger orders. For the Indonesian tax rules behind those add-ons, see the tax section of our Indonesia guide.

Verification has levels. Level 1, with a KTP or KITAS, allows IDR withdrawals of up to Rp250 million per 24 hours. Level 2 raises that to Rp5 billion. These limits come from Tokocrypto’s KYC guide.

Already holding USDT elsewhere?

You can also fund Tokocrypto with USDT from another platform. CEX.IO, running since 2013, sells USDT by Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay after verification. It does not list LUNC, and for Asian users it operates through CEX OVRS LLC in St Kitts and Nevis, with no Indonesian licence.

How to buy LUNC on Tokocrypto

Here is the route from rupiah to Terra Classic. The exchange-neutral version lives in our how to buy LUNC guide.

  1. Verify to Level 1

Register and submit a KTP (Indonesian citizens) or KITAS (foreign residents). Tokocrypto says approval usually takes under 24 hours. A Level 0 account cannot withdraw.

  2. Deposit rupiah by bank transfer

Send IDR from a bank account in your own name. Bank transfer avoids the 2% fee Tokocrypto lists for e-wallet deposits.

  3. Buy USDT with rupiah

Use the USDT/IDR market or Instant Buy. Instant Buy carries no trading fee, only tax and the exchange levy, but check the quoted rate against the order book.

  4. Buy LUNC on LUNC_USDT

Open LUNC_USDT, not LUNA_USDT. Place a limit order near the best ask; the minimum order value is 5 USDT.

  5. Hold or withdraw

Before you withdraw, check the LUNC network status, fee and memo field on the Withdraw screen. The Terra Classic chain takes its 1.5% tax on every transfer. Send a test amount first.

LUNC-specific notes

Ticker. On Tokocrypto, as on Binance, "LUNA" is Terra 2.0. Terra Classic is LUNC. Our LUNC vs LUNA page explains the split. Withdrawals. Tokocrypto does not publish its LUNC withdrawal fee, network or memo rules where we could find them. Most exchanges require a memo for LUNC deposits, so expect one in the other direction too. Binance itself had LUNC withdrawals paused for wallet maintenance when we checked, which is one more reason to look at the status before you buy if self-custody is the plan. Chain tax. Every on-chain move pays the 1.5% burn tax, a governance setting that can change by vote. Burns. Binance burns LUNC from its own trading fees, explained on our Binance burn page. Whether Tokocrypto’s fees count toward that is not confirmed.

Regulation and security record

Tokocrypto is on OJK’s list of licensed digital asset traders. Its licence letter is reported as S-14/D.07/2025, dated 1 February 2025, but the OJK file was not reachable for us to read. The exchange is not among the members on the CFX register; its fee tables mention an ICEx fee instead, which indicates it clears through the other Indonesian crypto exchange, ICEx. Its site also claims ISO/IEC 27001 and 27017 certification and says it publishes proof of reserves periodically. Those are Tokocrypto’s own statements.

We found no platform hack between 2018 and 2026. That is absence of evidence, not a guarantee. There was a 2021 complaint from an individual user who lost funds, and in 2025 the exchange ran a campaign against account selling, a reminder that most retail losses start with a compromised login. Use an authenticator app, never share your account, and keep long-term coins in your own LUNC wallet.

Alternatives to Tokocrypto

If you want to skip the USDT step, Indodax is the only exchange in Indonesia with a LUNC/IDR book. It is thin, so it suits small buys. If you want the most local LUNC turnover, Bittime recorded more LUNC/USDT trading than Tokocrypto on the day we looked, though it is a younger platform. Pintu, Reku and Upbit Indonesia do not offer LUNC. Our LUNC exchanges list compares every venue we track across Asia.

Good

  • Tight LUNC_USDT spread that tracks Binance
  • OJK-licensed, with Binance group backing
  • Low 5 USDT minimum order
  • Easy rupiah bank deposits and clear KYC levels

Watch out

  • No LUNC/IDR pair, so every buy takes two steps
  • Two different company names on OJK list and app
  • LUNC withdrawal fee and memo rules not published
  • Margin on a volatile coin is easy to misuse

FAQ

Does Tokocrypto have LUNC?

Yes. Tokocrypto lists Terra Classic as LUNC_USDT, with spot and margin trading enabled. There is no LUNC/IDR pair, so you buy USDT with rupiah first and then swap it for LUNC.

Is Tokocrypto owned by Binance?

Binance took a majority stake in Tokocrypto in 2022 and was reported in December 2022 to be buying the remaining shares. We could not confirm the current shareholder structure. Tokocrypto operates as an Indonesian company under OJK supervision.

Is Tokocrypto licensed by OJK?

Tokocrypto appears on OJK’s list of licensed digital asset traders under the company name PT Aset Digital Berkat. Its licence letter is reported as S-14/D.07/2025, though we could not open the OJK document ourselves. Note that its app is published under a different company name, PT. Crypto Indonesia Berkat.

What is the minimum LUNC order on Tokocrypto?

The LUNC_USDT market has a minimum order value of 5 USDT. Amounts move in steps of 0.01 LUNC. In practice that means a first LUNC purchase can be very small.

Is LUNA on Tokocrypto the same as LUNC?

No. Tokocrypto’s LUNA_USDT is Terra 2.0, a separate coin launched after the May 2022 collapse. Terra Classic trades as LUNC_USDT. LUNA costs roughly a thousand times more per coin, which is the fastest way to spot the difference.
