The live LUNC price sits at the top of this page. The chart pulls Binance’s public LUNC/USDT market data, falls back to CoinGecko if Binance is unreachable, and converts to your currency with live exchange rates. If no fresh data is available, the chart hides itself instead of showing a stale line. Below, you’ll learn how to read it, why the numbers carry so many zeros, and why the famous all-time high of $119.18 belongs to a different era of the coin.
Terra Classic is the original Terra blockchain that kept running after the May 2022 collapse. Three facts explain most of what you see on any LUNC chart: the price is a tiny fraction of a cent, the supply is counted in trillions, and most trading happens in USDT pairs on large global exchanges. If you are new to the coin itself, our plain explainer on what LUNC is is the better starting point.
How to read the live market board
The board below is the quick-glance version of the market. It shows the price in your currency, then five change chips: 1 hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days and 1 year. Under those sit market cap, 24-hour volume, rank and the all-time high from CoinGecko. The last rows come straight from the blockchain: total supply, the burn tax and the share of LUNC that is staked.
LUNC market board
Live·
- Terra Classic (LUNC) runs on chain ID columbus-5
- Burn tax on transfers, voted by governance
- Staking unbonding takes 21 days
- Live data loads from public APIs when available
Read the chips together, not one at a time. A green 24-hour figure next to a red 30-day figure usually means a bounce inside a downtrend, not a new trend. Then check volume. A move on volume far above the coin’s quiet-day level has real buyers or sellers behind it. A move on weak volume can reverse just as fast, because a few large orders are enough to push a thin book around.
The supply row is worth a second look. It reads the total straight from a Terra Classic node, so it moves every time coins are burned. That is a different number from the “circulating supply” aggregators use for market cap, which we unpack below. The burn tax row shows the on-chain rate, 1.5% since governance raised it in August 2026. Validators and stakers can change that rate by vote, which is why we read it live. Our burn tax guide covers how the rate is split and spent.
Reading the LUNC chart without fooling yourself
The hero chart has five windows: 24H, 7D, 30D, 90D and 1Y. Each one marks its high and its low, shows the change across the window and adds a daily heat strip underneath. Hover or tap anywhere on the line to see the price at that moment. The source note under the chart tells you where the data came from.
Start wide and zoom in. The 1-year view shows the real trend and where the big spikes happened. The 90-day view shows the current range. The 24-hour view is mostly noise. LUNC has busy perpetual futures markets on Binance, Bybit, KuCoin, Bitget and Gate, and a wave of forced liquidations can draw a sharp wick that disappears an hour later. Judge a move by where the price settles, not by the tip of the wick.
Local-currency charts need one more check. When you switch to lira, baht or rupiah, the chart multiplies the dollar price by the exchange rate. If the lira weakens against the dollar, a LUNC chart in lira can rise while the dollar chart is flat. That gain is your currency moving, not LUNC. For direct conversions of any amount, the LUNC converter handles 14 currencies.
Zoom out firstWhy the LUNC price has so many zeros
LUNC trades for a small fraction of a US cent, so exchanges quote it with eight decimals or more. On chain, one LUNC is split into 1,000,000 micro-units called uluna, which is why wallets and explorers sometimes show huge raw numbers. Both are just ways of writing very small amounts.
The easiest mental shortcut is to think per million coins. Here is a labelled example: if the price were $0.00005, one million LUNC would be worth $50, and one billion LUNC would be worth $50,000. Moving the decimal six places is all it takes. This also explains why “just one more zero” is a huge move. Going from $0.00005 to $0.0005 is a tenfold rise, which would need a market cap ten times larger at the same supply. Our page on whether LUNC can reach $1 runs that math with live numbers.
Watch out for futures tickers too. Binance and Bybit list LUNC perpetuals as 1000LUNCUSDT, which prices a bundle of 1,000 coins. A futures quote is therefore a thousand times the spot price. Mixing the two is a common reason screenshots on social media show “impossible” prices.
Market cap, total supply and the circulating gap
Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply. In recent periods LUNC’s market cap has sat in the low hundreds of millions of dollars, several times larger than Terra 2.0’s. The board shows the exact figure in real time, so we won’t freeze one here.
The tricky part is the supply. On chain, total supply is about 6.4 trillion LUNC, down from a post-crash peak of about 6.907 trillion. CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap use a circulating supply of about 5.5 trillion instead. Roughly 0.9 trillion LUNC separates the two, and neither aggregator publishes which wallets it excludes. That gap is far larger than the community pool and the oracle reward pool combined, so it must also cover other large or locked holdings. When you see two market caps that disagree, check which supply each one uses. Our LUNC supply guide breaks down where the coins sit.
CoinMarketCap also lists a “max supply” equal to total supply. That is misleading. LUNC has no hard cap written into the protocol. What it has is zero mint inflation, so supply only falls through burns unless governance changes the rules. The live burn tracker shows how much has been removed so far.
Price is only half the story
A market cap is price times supply. With trillions of LUNC in existence, small price moves change the total value by millions of dollars.
Why the all-time high still says $119.18
Every price site shows an all-time high of $119.18, dated 5 April 2022. That figure is real, but it belongs to the old LUNA, before the collapse. At that point fewer than a billion coins existed. On 7 May 2022 the total supply was about 725 million LUNA. The often-quoted 350 million was only the circulating part.
Then UST lost its dollar peg. Holders redeemed UST for newly minted LUNA, and by 27 May 2022 the supply had reached about 6.907 trillion. That is roughly 9,500 times more coins in under three weeks. The coin kept its price history when it was renamed LUNC, so the pre-crash high still sits at the top of every chart. The full story is on our Terra Luna crash page.
Do the math and the gap is clear. Multiply $119.18 by today’s supply of about 6.4 trillion and you get a market cap in the hundreds of trillions of dollars, a value no asset has ever reached. So treat the all-time high as history, not as a target. The all-time low is messier still. CoinGecko records about $0.000001 on 12 May 2022, during the crash. CoinMarketCap’s own data set shows a different low, dated 18 December 2025. Always name the source when you quote one.
Ready to act on the chart?
Most exchanges quote LUNC against USDT. CEX.IO, where our buttons lead, does not list LUNC: it sells USDT by Visa or Mastercard after verification, and you then send that USDT to an exchange with a LUNC pair.
LUNC price milestones since 2022
The table below collects the dated moves that shaped the chart. The prices are historical closes or reported levels on those dates, not live quotes. Use them to understand the size of past spikes, not to predict the next one.
| Date | What happened | Price context |
|---|---|---|
| 5 Apr 2022 | All-time high as old LUNA | $119.18 (CoinGecko and CMC) |
| 7–13 May 2022 | UST loses its peg, chain halts twice | Low near $0.000001 on 12 May |
| 28 May 2022 | Terra 2.0 launches, old coin renamed LUNC | Binance relists it as LUNC |
| 21 Sep 2022 | 1.2% burn tax goes live | Cut to 0.2% in Oct 2022 (prop 5234) |
| Mid-Dec 2025 | Do Kwon sentenced to 15 years | Spike to $0.0000611, then near $0.000039 |
| 20 Apr – 6 May 2026 | Rally around a 923M LUNC Binance burn | $0.0000412 to $0.0001153 close |
| 2 Aug 2026 | Burn tax raised to 1.5% (prop 12223) | Supply drain speeds up |
Two patterns stand out. First, the biggest spikes came with news and huge volume. Daily volume peaked around $250 million during the May 2026 rally and around $333 million near the December 2025 sentencing, far above normal days. Second, both spikes faded within weeks. The May 2026 move gained about 180% in two weeks, then gave all of it back by early November 2026. For what the news flow looks like in between, see our LUNC news roundup.
What actually moves the LUNC price
Burns and supply. About 462 billion LUNC has been removed since the post-crash peak, close to 6.7% of supply. That is real progress, but it took more than four years. The 1.5% on-chain tax burns 1.2 points of every taxed transfer, and Binance adds monthly batches burned from its trading fees. Binance last published a cumulative figure of about 82 billion LUNC for fees through January 2026, and the batches visible on chain since then bring the total we can support to roughly 87.6 billion. Burn headlines move the price for a day or two. The supply math moves it over years. Our Binance burn tracker logs each batch.
Liquidity. On quiet days, combined spot volume across tracked exchanges runs at a few million dollars. That is thin for a coin with trillions in supply. A single large market order can shift the price, and stop-loss cascades are common. Liquidity also explains why rallies fade: once the news buyers are done, there is little fresh demand to hold the level.
Binance. Binance is the reference market. It runs the main LUNC/USDT book and LUNC/USDC, plus LUNC/TRY, the largest LUNC fiat pair anywhere. It also runs the 1000LUNCUSDT futures contract, and Turkish trading through LUNC/TRY on Binance and Binance TR adds a strong regional flavor. Binance’s public tag data did not show a “Monitoring” tag on LUNC when we checked, so rumors of an imminent delisting deserve skepticism. Binance has paused LUNC withdrawals for wallet maintenance before, so check the withdrawal status before you buy. The full venue list is on our LUNC exchanges page.
The wider market. LUNC is a small-cap coin, and small caps tend to follow the overall crypto mood led by Bitcoin. A sharp Bitcoin sell-off usually drags LUNC lower whatever the chain news is. Network upgrades and governance votes matter too, but mostly as short-term catalysts.
Local pairs. In Turkey, LUNC/TRY trades directly. In Thailand, Bitkub lists LUNC under the old ticker LUNA_THB. In Indonesia, Indodax runs a thin LUNC/IDR book. These local books can trade at a small premium or discount to the dollar price when local demand spikes. Country details live on our Turkey, Thailand and Indonesia pages.
CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap and exchange prices
On CoinGecko, LUNC is listed as “Terra Luna Classic” under the id terra-luna. CoinMarketCap uses the same slug. Both blend prices from dozens of venues and leave out rows they flag as stale or anomalous. CoinGecko, for example, flags one large USDT ticker that would otherwise distort the volume figure. That is why an aggregator price and an exchange price can differ slightly.
The price that matters for a trade is the one on your exchange, after its fee and spread. Aggregators are best for the big picture: market cap, supply and the history of the coin. If a number looks wrong, cross-check the supply with the on-chain figure on the board and the price with the Binance chart above.
Finally, mind the ticker trap. Kraken, Bitkub and Bitvavo still call Terra Classic “LUNA”. Binance, OKX and BtcTurk use “LUNA” for Terra 2.0, a separate coin that trades roughly a thousand times higher per unit. If a chart labelled LUNA shows a price in cents, it is almost certainly Terra 2.0. Our LUNC vs LUNA guide explains the split.
FAQ
What is the LUNC price in USD right now?
The live chart and market board on this page show the current LUNC price in US dollars, taken from Binance’s LUNC/USDT market with CoinGecko as a fallback. We do not print a fixed number in the text because it would be out of date within minutes. Switch the currency on the converter if you want lira, baht, rupiah or pesos.
What was the LUNC all-time high?
CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap both list an all-time high of 119.18 dollars on 5 April 2022. That price belongs to the old LUNA before the May 2022 collapse, when fewer than a billion coins existed. After the crash the supply grew to about 6.9 trillion, so that high cannot be compared with today’s per-coin price.
What is the market cap of LUNC?
Market cap is the live price multiplied by circulating supply, and the board above shows it in real time. In recent periods it has sat in the low hundreds of millions of dollars. CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap use a circulating supply of about 5.5 trillion LUNC, which is lower than the roughly 6.4 trillion total supply recorded on chain.
Why is the LUNC price different on CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap and Binance?
Aggregators blend prices from many exchanges and drop venues they flag as stale or anomalous, while an exchange shows only its own order book. Small gaps are normal for a coin quoted with many decimals and thin liquidity. The price you can actually trade at is the one on your exchange, after its fees.
Is LUNA the same as LUNC on price charts?
Not always. Kraken, Bitkub and Bitvavo still use the ticker LUNA for Terra Classic, while Binance, OKX and BtcTurk use LUNA for Terra 2.0. Check the price level: Terra 2.0 trades roughly a thousand times higher per coin than LUNC.
What is the LUNC all-time low?
It depends on the data source. CoinGecko records about 0.000001 dollars on 12 May 2022, in the middle of the crash. CoinMarketCap’s own data set shows a different low dated 18 December 2025, so always name the source when you quote an all-time low.
