Bitkub review: buying LUNC with baht under the LUNA ticker

Bitkub is where most baht-priced LUNC trades. Its LUNA_THB market is Terra Classic, the minimum order is 10 baht and PromptPay funding is quick. Weigh that against a 0.25% fee, a hidden withdrawal fee and a pending SEC case.

Verdict and score

Bitkub is the main baht gateway to Terra Classic. Its LUNA_THB market, which despite the name is LUNC, was the second-largest local-currency LUNC market in the world in our checks, behind only Binance’s lira book and ahead of Kraken’s dollar pair. The 10-baht minimum, PromptPay deposits and a direct baht pair make it the simplest one-step route for Thai residents, and trades there sit inside Thailand’s licensed system for tax purposes.

Three things hold the score down. The trading fee of 0.25% is higher than Binance TH’s 0.10% on crypto pairs. The current LUNC withdrawal fee is not public. And on 23 July 2026 Thailand’s SEC filed a criminal complaint against Bitkub Online over net-capital reports linked to a concealed 2021 hack. We score Bitkub 7.1 out of 10.

The reasoning. Liquidity (8): the deepest baht book for LUNC anywhere, though still much smaller than Binance’s USDT market. Fees (6): 0.25% maker and taker per the fee page, plus a LUNC withdrawal fee you only see in the app. Local funding (9): a direct THB pair, PromptPay and Thai bank transfers, and a 10-baht entry point. Regulation and safety (5): on the SEC licence list as exchange and broker, offset by the pending 2021 concealment case and earlier fines. App (7.5): 4.36 stars from about 20,400 ratings on the Thai App Store.

LUNA_THB is LUNC

This is the single most important fact about LUNC on Bitkub. Bitkub created its baht market for Terra in February 2022, before the crash, and kept the original symbol when the chain was renamed. Its market data now names the pair “Thai Baht to Terra Classic (LUNC)”. The new chain launched after May 2022, Terra 2.0, sits on a separate LUNA2_THB market, which is stopped, with buying and selling frozen. So on Bitkub, buying “LUNA” means buying LUNC.

Almost everywhere else the opposite applies. On Binance TH, Binance TR, BtcTurk and Bitazza, “LUNA” is Terra 2.0. Mixing the two gives prices about a thousand times apart, which is the easiest check: LUNC on Bitkub costs around a thousandth of a baht per coin, while Terra 2.0 trades above one baht. Our LUNC vs LUNA explainer covers why the names split after the Terra collapse.

The baht order book

Bitkub’s LUNA_THB book is its own, not a mirror of an international exchange. In our snapshot it turned over a few billion LUNC in a day, worth a six-figure dollar amount, which is deep enough for most retail orders. The baht price ran a few percent above Binance’s dollar price after currency conversion. That is a normal local-fiat spread, not an arbitrage opportunity, because moving coins between exchanges costs fees and the 1.5% chain tax.

For live baht pricing, use the converter in the hero or our LUNC converter. Quotes are in millionths of a baht, so a limit order is easy to place precisely. If you want to compare with the global market, the LUNC price page shows the dollar chart.

Fees and minimums

Bitkub’s fee page, which we could only read through search snippets because it sits behind a bot wall, lists 0.25% for both maker and taker orders. Check the fee page in the app before trading, since tiers and promotions can change it. As a worked example at 0.25%, buying 1,000 baht of LUNC costs 2.50 baht in fees, and selling it later costs the same again. On Binance TH, the same trade on the USDT pair would be charged 0.10%, but you would pay a baht-to-USDT conversion first.

The minimum order is 10 baht, one of the smallest entry points among the licensed LUNC venues we reviewed. That makes Bitkub a reasonable place to test the process with pocket money before committing more. Depositing baht is reported to be free; withdrawing baht to a Thai bank was reported at about 20 baht, with a cap of 2 million baht per withdrawal.

Baht funding and KYC

Funding is the strongest part of Bitkub. You deposit baht by PromptPay QR or Thai bank transfer from an account in your own name, and then trade LUNA_THB directly, with no USDT step. Thai citizens verify with NDID or a Dip-Chip ID card check. Foreign residents need a passport plus a Thai residence document, or an NFC e-passport plus one extra document. The documented routes do not cover short-term visitors without residence papers.

Using a licensed venue has a tax angle too. Ministerial Regulation No. 399, published in September 2025, exempts individuals’ crypto capital gains from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2029 when the trades go through SEC-licensed businesses. Companies are excluded, and gains on offshore venues do not qualify. Our Thailand LUNC guide explains the rule in more detail.

Holding dollars instead of baht?

If you start from a card rather than a Thai bank account, the button opens a USDT on-ramp. It does not list LUNC and holds no Thai SEC licence, so gains there get no Thai exemption. Buy LUNC on an exchange that lists it.

How to buy LUNC on Bitkub

Because there is a direct baht pair, the whole route is five short steps. The general how to buy LUNC guide covers the routes for other countries.

  1. Open and verify your account

Install the Bitkub app from the official site. Verify with NDID or Dip-Chip if you are Thai, or with a passport and residence document if you are a foreign resident.

  2. Deposit baht

Send THB by PromptPay QR or bank transfer from an account in your own name.

  3. Open LUNA_THB

Search for Terra Classic or LUNA. Confirm the pair says Terra Classic (LUNC) and the price is around a thousandth of a baht.

  4. Place a limit order

Enter your price and amount. The minimum is 10 THB. A limit order protects you from a sudden jump in the book.

  5. Plan your exit

Open the LUNC withdrawal screen, note the live fee and any memo field, and decide whether to move coins to a self-custody wallet.

Do the fee maths first

Trading fee, withdrawal fee and the 1.5% chain tax all come out of the same coins. Add them up before you buy.

Withdrawing LUNC

Bitkub does not show its current LUNC withdrawal fee publicly, and it updates crypto withdrawal fees four times a day, at 12:00, 16:00, 21:00 and midnight Bangkok time. The only reliable figure is the one on the withdrawal screen at the moment you send. Bitkub’s notices from 2022 and 2023 say the Terra Classic burn tax is charged on top of its own fee. Those notices quote older tax rates. The chain tax is now 1.5%, set by governance in proposal 12223 and changeable by a future vote; our burn tax page has the history.

Here is a labelled example. If you withdraw 1,000,000 LUNC, the chain tax alone takes about 15,000 LUNC, and Bitkub’s own fee comes on top. Small withdrawals can lose a large share to the fixed part, so batch them. We could not confirm whether Bitkub asks for a memo on LUNC deposits. Most exchanges do, so copy every field the deposit screen shows.

Licence and security record

Bitkub Online appears on the Thai SEC’s licence list as a digital-asset exchange and a broker, licensed under the Emergency Decree on Digital Asset Businesses B.E. 2561. The Ministry of Finance grants licences on the SEC’s recommendation. We could not confirm the licence number, because parts of the SEC site refused our requests.

The security record is the weak spot. Press reports by Decrypt, FinTechNews Singapore and ForkLog describe a May 2021 hack of about 1.7 billion baht, roughly $47 million across 16 assets, that was not disclosed at the time. On 23 July 2026 the SEC filed a criminal complaint against Bitkub Online and two former directors over false net-capital reports covering 10 May to 30 October 2021. Bitkub says its co-founders replaced the missing assets and no customer lost funds. No charges had been decided in the reports we found. Earlier, Bitkub was fined in a 2019 fabricated-volume case, and an executive faced insider-trading penalties.

Ownership has moved around as well. Asphere Innovations holds 9.2% of Bitkub Online, a 51% sale to SCB Securities was cancelled in 2022, and a Hong Kong listing was reported in November 2025 without completing. None of this changes how you buy LUNC, but it is a reason not to treat any exchange balance as savings.

App and support

The Bitkub app holds 4.36 stars from about 20,400 ratings on the Thai App Store. It is fully Thai-language, PromptPay deposits are built in, and LUNA_THB appears in the normal market list. We did not analyse the reviews behind the gap with Binance TH’s 4.81. We did not test support response times, so we score the app on its rating and features. Use only the official app and site.

Alternatives

Binance TH is the other licensed Thai option. It lists LUNC/USDT on Binance’s shared book with a 0.10% fee on crypto pairs, but has no baht pair, and its LUNC withdrawals were paused when we checked. Bitazza’s LUNC markets sit on Bitazza Global, which the SEC charged in February 2026 as an unlicensed exchange, so we do not recommend it. Orbix Trade reportedly suspended LUNC network deposits and withdrawals from 17 May 2023, and Upbit TH has no LUNC. The full venue list is on our LUNC exchanges page, and Indonesian readers can compare Indodax.

FAQ

Is LUNA on Bitkub the same as LUNC?

Yes. Bitkub lists Terra Classic under the symbol LUNA_THB, and its own market data names the pair Terra Classic (LUNC). Terra 2.0 sits on a separate LUNA2_THB market, which is stopped, so on Bitkub the LUNA ticker is the coin this site covers.

What is the minimum order for LUNC on Bitkub?

The minimum order on LUNA_THB is 10 Thai baht. The price moves in steps of 0.000001 baht and quantities move in steps of 1 LUNC, so you can start with a very small amount.

What are Bitkub’s trading fees for LUNC?

Bitkub’s fee page, as shown in search snippets, lists 0.25% for both maker and taker orders. We could not open the page directly, so check the fee page in the app before you trade, since promotions and tiers can change the rate.

Is Bitkub safe after the 2021 hack?

Bitkub says a May 2021 hack of about 1.7 billion baht was covered by its co-founders and that no customer lost funds. Thailand’s SEC filed a criminal complaint on 23 July 2026 over false net-capital reports linked to that period, and no charges had been decided in the reports we found. Bitkub is on the SEC’s licence list, but like any exchange it is a custody risk for long-term holdings.

How much does it cost to withdraw LUNC from Bitkub?

Bitkub does not show its current LUNC withdrawal fee publicly and updates crypto withdrawal fees four times a day. Check the withdrawal screen for the live figure, and add the 1.5% Terra Classic burn tax, which Bitkub’s notices say is charged on top of its own fee.

Are LUNC gains on Bitkub taxed in Thailand?

Ministerial Regulation No. 399 exempts individuals’ capital gains on crypto from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2029 when the trades go through SEC-licensed businesses such as Bitkub. Companies are excluded, and gains on offshore venues follow the normal personal income tax rules.
