LUNC coin in Turkey: trading LUNC/TRY with lira

Turkey hosts the world’s largest local-currency LUNC market, LUNC/TRY on Binance and Binance TR. BtcTurk and Paribu do not list LUNC, crypto payments are banned, and no crypto tax was in force when we checked.

If you want to buy LUNC with Turkish lira, the answer is short: the only local-currency market is LUNC/TRY on Binance, and Binance TR, the Turkish entity on the SPK’s provisional list, lists the same pair on a shared order book. That book is the largest local-currency LUNC market in the world. The big domestic brands, BtcTurk and Paribu, do not list LUNC, and BtcTurk’s “LUNA” is a different coin.

The legal frame is still settling. Law 7518 put crypto platforms under the Capital Markets Board (SPK) in 2024, but the SPK list is provisional and is not an authorisation. Crypto may not be used for payments, e-money wallets cannot fund exchanges, and there was no crypto-specific tax in force when we checked. This guide explains each point and ends with a practical route.

Why Turkey matters for LUNC

Turkish demand is visible in the order books. In the snapshots we took for this guide, the lira market carried roughly a third of Binance’s entire LUNC spot volume, more than any USD or EUR pair on any exchange. Only the USDT pairs on Binance and LBank were larger. No other local currency comes close: Thailand’s baht book on Bitkub, the next-largest, ran at around a quarter of the lira market’s size.

Search behaviour tells the same story. “Lunc coin”, “lunc tl”, “1 lunc kaç tl”, “lunc try” and “lunc coin yorum” are among the most common LUNC queries in Turkish, and many of them are about the lira price rather than the dollar price. Turkish-language crypto media cover LUNC burns and price moves regularly. A direct lira pair matters here: it lets a buyer go from a bank account to LUNC in one trade, with no stablecoin step in between.

What we could not find is a local LUNC organisation. None of the 88 active Terra Classic validators names Turkey in its on-chain description, and we found no Turkish community group we could verify. Turkish interest shows up in trading, not in running the chain. For the wider picture, see our LUNC in Asia hub.

Regulators and legal status

Three bodies matter for a Turkish LUNC buyer. The SPK (Sermaye Piyasası Kurulu) supervises crypto-asset service providers, known as KVHS, under Law No. 7518 of July 2024, which amended the Capital Markets Law 6362. MASAK is the anti-money-laundering authority. The central bank, TCMB, issued the 2021 rule that bans crypto payments.

The SPK list is not a licence. The SPK publishes a provisional “Faaliyette Bulunanlar Listesi”, a list of firms operating under transitional rules. The version published in late October 2026 had 49 entries, including Binance Turkey, Bitlo, BtcTurk, Paribu, OKX TR, KuCoin TR and the Turkish arms of Bybit, Gate, MEXC and WhiteBIT. The SPK states plainly that inclusion “does not mean the firm is authorised”. Only establishment permits had been reported, and we found no final operating permit for any trading platform. One listed firm, Bitexen, was told by the SPK in September 2026 to take no new customers and list no new assets. Platforms that are not on the list and still target Turkish residents act unlawfully, and the SPK pursues access bans against them.

The payment ban. The regulation on not using crypto assets in payments was published in the Official Gazette (No. 31456) on 16 April 2021 and took effect on 30 April 2021. You may not pay for goods or services with crypto, directly or indirectly. Payment and e-money institutions also may not carry money to or from crypto platforms, which is why Papara-style wallets are out.

MASAK rules. MASAK oversees customer checks at every platform. Rules reported in force since June 2025 cap stablecoin transfers at $3,000 a day and $50,000 a month, and hold withdrawals for 48 hours after a purchase or deposit, or 72 hours the first time. Plan for those delays if you intend to move USDT between platforms.

Where LUNC trades in Turkey

We checked the public market lists of the main Turkish platforms. Only two list LUNC, and only one has a lira pair.

Binance TR’s LUNC_TRY book matched Binance’s global LUNCTRY book to the last bid and ask in the same minute, so we treat them as one shared market. That is good news for Turkish buyers: you get global depth on a locally listed entity. Bitlo is the local alternative, but its LUNC pair is quoted in USDT only and the book is thin, with a spread of about 1% when we looked.

1 LUNC in lira: reading the price

The converter at the top of this page shows the live LUNC price in lira. Because one LUNC is worth a small fraction of a lira, prices carry several decimals, and it is often easier to think in blocks of a million coins. Our LUNC converter handles any amount and other currencies.

A worked example, with made-up round numbers: if LUNC/TRY trades at 0.002 TRY, then 1,000,000 LUNC costs 2,000 TRY before fees. If the order book moves to 0.0021 TRY, the same coins are worth 2,100 TRY. Keep in mind that the lira price has two moving parts. LUNC can rise in lira terms simply because the lira weakens against the dollar, even when its dollar price is flat. When you compare your result with prices quoted in USDT, convert at the same moment.

For the dollar side of the picture, and to see how the price behaves over weeks, use the live LUNC price page. If you are asking “1 dolar olur mu”, our $1 analysis does the supply maths.

Funding with lira: bank transfers, P2P and the payment ban

The normal way to fund a Turkish platform is a lira bank transfer, FAST, EFT or havale, from an account in your own name. Because of the 2021 regulation, e-money wallets such as Papara cannot be used to fund crypto platforms. Papara was also placed under the TMSF, the deposit insurance fund, as trustee in May 2025.

Peer-to-peer trading is the other route people mention. On Binance.com P2P, we found plenty of lira ads to buy USDT through Turkish banks such as Ziraat, Garanti, İşBank and ING, but zero ads for LUNC itself. The best USDT ad cost about 3% more than the spot rate when we checked, so P2P is a cost, not a shortcut. It also carries a real risk: if your counterparty’s money turns out to be linked to fraud, MASAK rules can lead to your bank account being flagged or frozen. Binance.com is not the SPK-listed entity, either.

Bank transfer beats P2P

A transfer from your own account to a platform on the SPK list is slower to set up but far easier to explain to your bank later.

Is LUNC taxed in Turkey?

When we checked, Turkey had no crypto-specific tax in force. A bill in March 2026 proposed a 0.03% tax on transactions and 10% withholding on gains, and a parliamentary committee approved it, but the crypto articles were withdrawn in the General Assembly on 26–27 March 2026. We found no reintroduction afterwards.

The safest reading is “no special crypto tax yet, and a proposal may return”. Keep a simple record of each purchase, sale and transfer, with dates, amounts in lira and the platform used. If a tax arrives later, you will be able to show your cost basis. If your activity looks like a business, ask a Turkish tax adviser, because general income rules can still apply.

A practical route from lira to LUNC

For most Turkish residents the direct lira route on Binance TR is the simplest, because it stays on a platform that is on the SPK list and avoids moving stablecoins around. Here is how it usually works.

  1. Open and verify a Binance TR account

Complete identity checks with your Turkish ID. Use the Binance TR app or site, not the global Binance site.

  2. Send lira by bank transfer

Use FAST, EFT or havale from an account in your own name. E-money wallets cannot fund crypto platforms.

  3. Buy on LUNC_TRY with a limit order

The minimum order is 10 TRY. A limit order lets you control the price on a fast-moving book.

  4. Check withdrawal status before moving

Binance had LUNC withdrawals paused for wallet maintenance when we checked, and Binance TR does not publish LUNC withdrawal rules openly.

  5. Withdraw to your own wallet if you can

Each on-chain transfer pays the 1.5% burn tax plus the platform fee. Use a native wallet from our wallet guide.

The alternative route runs through USDT: buy USDT with lira on BtcTurk or Paribu, withdraw it after the MASAK holding period, and buy LUNC/USDT on Bitlo or a global exchange. It costs more steps and more fees, so it only makes sense if you already hold USDT or prefer a different platform.

If you want to buy USDT by card instead, CEX.IO, running since 2013, accepts Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay after verification, and Turkey is not on its unsupported list. Be clear about what it is: an international platform served in Asia by CEX OVRS LLC of St Kitts and Nevis, not on the SPK list, with no lira bank rail (lira cards are converted at your bank’s rate), and it does not list LUNC. For a lira holder, Binance TR’s direct pair is the more natural route.

Prefer to start with USDT?

Buy USDT by card, then trade it for LUNC on an exchange that lists the coin. CEX.IO is not on the SPK list.

Binance TR and Bitlo reviews

We review both Turkish venues that list LUNC. The Binance TR review covers the lira pair, the 10 TRY minimum, fees and the questions around LUNC withdrawals. The Bitlo review looks at a local brand on the SPK list that only quotes LUNC in USDT. If you are comparing with other countries, Thailand’s baht route and Indonesia’s rupiah route are the only other local-currency options in Asia, while South Korea shows what happens when every local exchange drops a coin.

FAQ

1 LUNC kaç TL?

One LUNC is worth a small fraction of a lira, so prices are usually quoted with several decimal places. The exact figure changes every second with the LUNC/TRY order book and the lira exchange rate. Use the live converter at the top of this page to see the current value for any amount.

Does BtcTurk list LUNC?

No. BtcTurk lists LUNA/TRY and LUNA/USDT, but that LUNA is Terra 2.0, a different coin priced around a thousand times higher than LUNC. Paribu and OKX TR do not list LUNC either.

Can I buy LUNC with Turkish lira on Binance TR?

Yes. Binance TR lists the LUNC_TRY pair, which shares its order book with Binance’s global LUNCTRY market. That makes it the deepest local-currency LUNC market anywhere. The minimum order on the pair is 10 TRY.

Is Binance TR licensed by the SPK?

Binance TR is on the SPK’s provisional list of operating crypto-asset service providers. The SPK states that being on this list does not mean a firm is authorised, so describe it as listed, not licensed. Final operating permits had not been reported for trading platforms when we checked.

Is there a crypto tax on LUNC in Turkey?

No crypto-specific tax was in force when we checked. A March 2026 bill proposed a 0.03% transaction tax and 10% withholding on gains, but those articles were withdrawn in parliament. The proposal may return, so keep records of every trade.

Can I use Papara to buy LUNC?

No. Under the central bank’s 2021 regulation, payment and e-money institutions may not move funds to or from crypto platforms. Use a bank transfer such as FAST, EFT or havale from an account in your own name instead.
