Terra Classic dApps today are a short list. A few decentralized exchanges carry almost all the activity, led by WESO and Terraswap Classic, with CL8Y, Garuda DeFi and Terraport behind them. Around them sit small lending, NFT, launchpad, bridge and explorer projects, many run by a handful of volunteers.
Before the May 2022 collapse, Terra hosted Anchor, Mirror and dozens of other well-funded protocols. Nearly all of them are gone from the Classic chain, and their old links can be dangerous. This guide sorts the LUNC ecosystem into what works and what does not, explains the new governance rule for deploying contracts, and gives you a checklist for judging any LUNC project before you connect a wallet.
How big LUNC DeFi really is
DefiLlama, the standard tracker for value locked in DeFi, puts the whole Terra Classic chain at under a million dollars. That figure includes every DEX pool, lending market and liquid staking contract it tracks. For a coin whose market cap runs to the hundreds of millions, that is a very small fraction: almost all LUNC sits in wallets, on exchanges or in staking, not in apps.
Within that small pie, the order is clear. WESO and Terraswap Classic each hold a few hundred thousand dollars. CL8Y DEX holds around a hundred thousand. Garuda DeFi and Terraport each hold tens of thousands. Eris Protocol and Juris Protocol are in the single-digit thousands. The exact numbers move every day, but the shape has been stable: shallow pools, so even mid-sized trades see real slippage. Our swap guide shows how to size orders around that.
Live and dead Terra Classic projects
Swipe through the main projects below. Live means the site responded in our check. Down means the site did not load. Dead means the project has left Terra Classic or DefiLlama marks it as a dead URL.
The live list changes. Projects appear, lose their developer or move chains, so check status yourself before you deposit. The community hub terra-classic.io keeps an ecosystem directory, and its source is public on GitHub, which makes it a safer place to find project URLs than search ads or social media replies.
DEXes and swaps
DEXes are the heart of LUNC DeFi. Terraswap Classic is the original Terra automated market maker, now operated by DELIGHT, which also runs a validator. WESO DeFi has grown into the largest pool by value. CL8Y and Garuda DeFi are native DEXes with their own token communities, and Terraport combines a DEX aggregator with a bridge and its own block explorer. LuncSwap.fun is a newer markets and DeFi site.
Outside the chain, Osmosis offers LUNC and USTC pools over IBC, and Coinhall aggregates charts. The native LUNC-to-USTC market swap built into the protocol is switched off, with its spread set to 100%, so every LUNC and USTC swap goes through a DEX or an exchange. On-chain swaps can also be charged the 1.5% burn tax, which is part of why the burn tracker keeps ticking. If you want the step-by-step, see how to swap LUNC.
Few blocks, carefully stacked
Terra Classic’s apps are small and often depend on one another: a DEX pool here, a bridge there, an explorer to check it all.
Lending, liquid staking and DAO tools
Juris Protocol runs lending and borrowing, plus a bridge. Eris Protocol offers liquid staking, which gives you a token representing staked LUNC so you can keep earning while using the token elsewhere. Both hold only a few thousand dollars on Terra Classic, so liquidity is limited and exits can be slow. Native staking from your own wallet, explained in our LUNC staking guide, avoids the extra contract risk entirely.
DAO DAO, the Cosmos tooling for on-chain organizations, also supports Terra Classic according to the community directory. Chain-level decisions, though, run through the native governance module, not through DAO contracts; our governance page explains how those votes work.
NFTs and launchpads
LUNC NFTs exist but trade thinly. BigBangX is an NFT marketplace and Miata an NFT launchpad, and both sites were live in our check. On the token side, TERRA.pump was a launchpad that did not load when we tested it, and Reputation is a reputation-token launchpad still marked as a work in progress. Meme and community tokens launched through such sites are high-risk by design: most have tiny pools and no ongoing development.
The new contract-upload rule, covered below, will shape this corner most. Launchpads that deploy contracts for every new token depend on being allowed to upload code.
Want native LUNC to use in dApps?
One route: buy USDT by card, send it to an exchange that lists LUNC, buy there, then withdraw native LUNC to Galaxy Station or Keplr.
Bridges
Bridges move LUNC and USTC to other chains, and they are where Terra Classic users have lost the most money over the years. The newest is a Hyperlane bridge connecting LUNC and USTC with Ethereum, BNB Chain and Solana, funded and then taken under governance ownership in 2025–26; the community directory still lists its front end as a work in progress. Terraport and Juris run their own bridges, Skip:Go handles Cosmos routes, and Allbridge Classic has a small Terra Classic deployment.
Several older routes are gone. Satellite, the TFM IBC bridge and the Tritium Bridge did not respond in our check. Terra’s original Shuttle bridge was shut down on 31 January 2023, and the Wormhole route from Terra Classic has been silent since July 2025. That matters for anyone holding wrapped LUNC on BNB Chain or Ethereum: do not assume you can bridge it back. Our wrapped LUNC guide lists the genuine contracts.
Explorers, tools and games
The tools are the healthiest part of the ecosystem. Galaxy Finder, Terraport Finder, LUNCdash Finder, ATOMScan, Valopers and LuncScan all show blocks, transactions and validators. Lunc.Tools offers utilities including a CW20 burn tool. For quick checks, our own LUNC explorer reads any terra1 address or transaction hash straight from public nodes, and the burn tracker shows the live supply.
| Category | Live examples | Gone or down |
|---|---|---|
| DEXes | WESO, Terraswap Classic, CL8Y, Garuda, Terraport | Astroport Classic, Loop |
| Lending and staking | Juris Protocol, Eris Protocol | Anchor, Mars |
| NFTs and launchpads | BigBangX, Miata, Reputation (WIP) | TERRA.pump (down) |
| Bridges | Hyperlane bridge, Terraport, Juris, Skip:Go | Shuttle, Satellite, TFM IBC |
| Explorers and tools | Galaxy Finder, ATOMScan, Valopers, Lunc.Tools | Mintscan (unsupported) |
| Games and other | Tritium, Luncverse | Terra Casino, Selenium (down) |
Games and metaverse projects such as Tritium and Luncverse still have live sites. Terra Casino and the synthetics project Selenium did not load. Mintscan and ping.pub, common Cosmos explorers, do not reliably support Terra Classic, so stick to the finders above.
The dead list, and why it matters
Anchor, Mirror, Mars, Pylon, Prism, Valkyrie, Starterra, LoTerra and many other pre-crash protocols hold nothing on Terra Classic. Astroport’s site is live but serves other chains, with zero value on Classic. Loop Finance’s domain now shows an unrelated page, and TFM no longer responds. Governance even burned USTC left in old Anchor and Mirror contracts in 2024, but the projects themselves stayed dead.
The danger is old links. Bookmarks, tutorials and search results from 2021 still point to these names, and dead domains can be bought by anyone. Never connect a wallet to a dead project’s site, and never sign a transaction a “recovery” page offers you.
Check the URLWho can deploy contracts now
Proposal 12234, which passed with about 93% support on 26 October 2026, changed CosmWasm code upload on Terra Classic from “everybody” to “nobody”. In practice, only governance can approve new contract code. Existing contracts keep running, but a new dApp or a new version of one now needs a governance vote, or a place on a list that governance approves.
The first test followed at once: proposal 12236 asked to let the Juris Protocol and LuncSwap.fun teams upload code. Supporters see the rule as a filter against spam tokens and malicious contracts. Critics worry it slows builders on a chain that already has few. Either way, it means any project claiming to “launch on LUNC” should be able to point to the vote that let it deploy.
How to evaluate a Terra Classic dApp
Most losses in small ecosystems come from three things: fake sites, contracts nobody reviewed, and pools too thin to exit. A quick check before you connect catches most of them.
Before you connect a wallet
- Get the URL from the terra-classic.io directory or the project’s verified channels, not from ads or replies.
- Check the value locked on DefiLlama and pool depth against the size of your trade.
- Look for an audit, public source code and a team that answers questions.
- Confirm the contract was uploaded under a governance vote or allow-list.
- Use Galaxy Station or Keplr, and never type a seed phrase into a website.
- Start with a small test amount and remember the burn tax on transfers.
- Review and revoke old CW20 allowances you no longer need.
Wallet choice matters too. Galaxy Station and Keplr connect to most Terra Classic dApps. Leap shut down in May 2026, so remove it if you still have it, and MetaMask cannot connect at all, because the chain has no EVM. See our LUNC wallets guide for setup.
FAQ
What dApps are on Terra Classic?
The live core is a handful of DEXes, led by WESO and Terraswap Classic, plus CL8Y, Garuda DeFi and Terraport. Around them sit smaller lending, liquid staking, NFT, launchpad, bridge and explorer projects. Most of the big pre-2022 protocols, such as Anchor, Mirror, Astroport Classic and Loop, are dead on Terra Classic.
How big is LUNC DeFi?
Small. DefiLlama puts the total value locked on Terra Classic at under a million dollars, with the two largest DEXes holding a few hundred thousand dollars each. That is tiny next to the chain’s market cap, so pools are shallow and large trades move prices.
Are there LUNC NFTs?
Yes, on a small scale. BigBangX runs an NFT marketplace and Miata an NFT launchpad on Terra Classic. Trading activity is thin, so treat any NFT bought there as illiquid and check that the collection’s contract is what the project claims.
Is Astroport still on Terra Classic?
No. The Astroport site is live, but it serves other chains, and its Terra Classic deployment shows no value locked on DefiLlama. Loop Finance and TFM are also dead on Terra Classic. Use Terraswap Classic, WESO, CL8Y, Garuda or Terraport instead.
Can anyone launch a dApp on Terra Classic?
Not any more. Since proposal 12234 passed on 26 October 2026, only governance can approve uploading new CosmWasm contract code. Teams now need a governance proposal, or a place on an allow-list approved by governance, before they can deploy.
Which wallet works with Terra Classic dApps?
Galaxy Station and Keplr are the usual choices, and most Terra Classic dApps connect to one or both. Leap shut down in May 2026 and the old Terra Station’s Classic backend is down. MetaMask cannot connect, because Terra Classic has no EVM.
